As restrictions are being lifted in Alabama, I wanted to gather a few friends and have a socially-distanced porch lunch. We were able to get together, just four of us, and still keep our distance while catching up on life and enjoying each other's company. It was a blessing!
We all brought our own lunches to my back porch, but I wanted to have a dessert ready to enjoy. My go-to dessert during the late spring and summer months is a Strawberry Pretzel Salad. It's a Southern tradition and one of the most delicious desserts to me because it's a little salty and a little sweet, a little crunchy and very smooth, too. Along with the dessert, I took a cue from my time in India and served a Fresh Lime Soda in my beautiful Sur la Table Wicker Wrapped Pitcher.
It was a beautiful day and oh so wonderful to see my friends!
Fresh Lime Soda Recipe:
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 2/3 cup simple syrup
- 1.5 liters lemon-lime seltzer water (I used Publix brand)
***Combine and stir lime juice and simple syrup in your pitcher, pour in seltzer water and gently stir. Garnish with lime slices.
